Not great, which is par for the media industry as a whole.
Does Newsday have any remote positions?
Just the Washington DC bureau and the amNY office, as well as regional offices on Long Island. As far as working from home, no.
How does Newsday make decisions around promotions?
Very secretively sometimes, and there's a balance between promoting from within and hiring externally.
How's the vacation policy at Newsday?
The first calendar year is prorated, and from that, it's pretty much industry standard: 1 to 2 years of service, 2 weeks 3 to 9 years of service, 3 weeks 10 years or more, 4 weeks The years are marked as calendar years. So if your start date is in December,starting January of the next year it is counted as your full year.
