Working at Synopsys is amazing. We feel and breath the international environment everyday. I am talking to people all around the globe everyday and learning from their cultures too. Today, as an example, I have spoken to people in Korea, Taiwan, Japan, USA, Portugal. It's an incredible opportunity.
The best part is our stocks.

How are layoffs handled in the Engineering department at Synopsys Inc?

Layoffs are handled professionally for the most part, however folks just tend to be 'disappeared' No effort is made to inform other colleagues
Very professional with the exception of letting other team members know. Most time, if you're not in the inner circle or work with the people affected, you'll only find out when you see them at another company in LinkedIn
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Synopsys Inc?
Change the culture in the VG organization to make it more diverse. It is dominated by Indians from the top management all the way down to the director level
Focus less on the bottom line quarter by quarter and more on developing and nurturing existing employees to reach their full potential.

The CEO is well respected
He's smart and ethical. Seems to be a good guy all around.

Typical process--not too hard, not too easy.

The IP team seams to continue to grow quickly. Some older simulation and verification products seem to be lagging.
