It can be intimidating... 2-3 interviews involving both behavioral and technical questions. Can be pretty challenging to navigate.

  • varies per department and manager, role and position. Unlike some of the FAANG interviews, the interview process will be more tailored to the needs.

  • I hope it's good, I give lots of interviews but have only been on the other side of the table once over 40 years ago.

In depended on the state. California's government required some weird crap with paying PTO or some stupid crap. I was in Oregon. There you got 3 weeks per year, completely flexible, approved by your manager only, and it was only tracked informally, usually on personal spreadsheets. You get 4 weeks once you've been there 10 years. It is use or lose it, which I liked because their attitude was USE IT!

  • It's pretty typical. 3 weeks for the first 10 years then 4 weeks. All flexible between you and the manager, no central tracking.

  • Behavioral (evaluate your soft skills) and technical (evaluate technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills)

  • Basic engineering skills are critical. I like to see if you remember anything about differential equations and vectors. The most important thing you need to prove to me is that you are smart. Other interviewers like to judge people skills because EVERYTHING is done in teams. If you cannot be successful in a team you will not be successful at Intel.

  • General behavioral interview questions.

  • It used to be merit. Increasingly it is based on diversity metrics.

  • Historically not that common, but much more so in the last couple years.

  • It used to be a meritocracy. Now demographics play a much larger role. I started to observe a preference for women and under-represented minorities (basically everyone that isn't white or Asian).

WAY too often. Get your crap together.

  • Far too often. The current CEO seemed to do them more often. It is indicative of terrible decisions and management of resources. If you are there always be ready to leave.

  • often. sometimes it's teams gets dissolved or redeployed, basically Intel gives you sometime to find another job before letting you go. At Intel they don't call them lay off unless it's a big one like what Intel did in the past 5 years, 2 layoffs each ~10% of company. However you won't even know about those unless you were affect or you are close to some people who were affected.

  • I hate to say it but it's an open completely non-secret that if you are anything besides a white or asian male, you are going to have a ton of resources and mentors and ratings preferences to ensure your advancement. HR and diversity ratios and quotas are running that damn company now.

  • Very good. A little rocky right now (2017), we are anticipating a number of changes so everyone is a little uneasy.

  • no team to team communication nor group to group. they are working on it I guess

  • It typically depends on your business groups. There are some groups that have a strict policy of coming to the office and will only allow working from home in emergencies. However, most of the Marketing groups are pretty liberal and don’t care as long as you don’t abuse it and the work gets done.
