It depends on the department/team. In general, if you have soft deliverables (like R&D) then life is easier. If you have hard deliverables (like anything that needs to tap-out) then it could be quite intense: long work hours + weekends + stress.

Like any other companies, it differs quite a lot for each department/team. I can only speak for my department (modem): overall it's very engineering-centric. The most knowledgeable will be the most respected. People are very hands-on, even managers.
