What is the best advice you could give someone during their first month at Intel Corporation?
I've worked at Intel for over 40 years and seen 1000's of RCGs and new hires. Your work ethic and competence will be judged during your first few months on the job. Whatever your degree is in I can almost guarantee it will have nothing to do with your actual job. You need to, Learn, Learn, Learn. We hired you because you convinced us were smart, now prove us right. For my first 30 years at the company RCGs would routinely work 12-14 hours days and the ones that worked the hardest were the ones that were successful. Most of the kids we hire now days don't want to work that hard, but the ones that do are always successful. I'll be retiring soon and it will be your show, so make it a good one.

Awesome if you are an under-represented minority.

There are two different types of layoffs at Intel. The second type of lay-off is where you’re notified and then escorted out. The second type is less frequent.
