Who knows I neve have been thought of for one
At least in equities, my feeling is they try to limit it to those who are indispensible. Those who can easily be grabbed by other tech co's. And even for them, they only do it on a need basis.

UBS dabbles extensively in the cutting edge yet its day to day technology and processes are a solid 5-10 years behind the times. This is because "innovation" is carried out in a silo, compartmentalized away from an organization that is allergic to change.
