Mr. Eric R. Newell serves as the Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President and Treasurer of United Financial Bancorp, Inc. (formerly, Rockville Financial Inc.). Mr. Newell has been the Chief Financial Officer of United Bank (formerly Rockville Bank) since November 14, 2013 and Executive Vice President since May 2013. He served as Head of Treasury & Corporate Strategy of United Bank since May 2013. He served as Senior Vice President and Director of Treasury at United Bank from March 2012 to May 2013. He served as a Senior Vice President of United Financial Bancorp, Inc. He joined United Bank in May 2011 as Vice President and Treasury Officer. He served as an Analyst at AllianceBernstein, as an Analyst for Fitch Ratings and as a Bank Examiner with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Mr. Newell holds a Chartered Financial Analyst Designation.

Mr. Mark A. Kucia has been the Chief Credit Officer and Executive Vice President of United Financial Bancorp, Inc. (formerly, Rockville Financial, Inc.) since March 2014. Mr. Kucia has been Chief Credit Officer and Executive Vice President of United Bank (formerly, Rockville Bank), a subsidiary of United Financial Bancorp, Inc. since February 2014. He served as Senior Vice President from August 2007 to July 2011, Commercial Banking Officer since August 2007, Executive Vice President from July 2011 to February 2014 and Head of Commercial Banking Division from July 2011 to February 2014 at United Bank. He served as Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending at United Bank. He joined United Bank in October 2005 and served as the Vice President, Senior Commercial Real Estate Lender. Prior to United Bank, Mr. Kucia served as Vice President, Senior Commercial Real Estate Lender at Liberty Bank located in Middletown, Connecticut. He worked at Mechanics Bank in Hartford, Connecticut and BayBank in Springfield, Massachusetts, in a variety of roles covering all aspects of commercial banking. Mr. Kucia's career began at the New York City offices of National Westminster Bank, PLC, on a corporate lending team.

Mr. David C. Paulson, also known as Dave, serves as the Head of Wholesale Banking and Executive Vice President at United Bank (formerly Rockville Bank). Mr. Paulson serves as Head of Wholesale Banking and Executive Vice President at United Financial Bancorp, Inc. Prior to joining United Bank, he was with Santander Bank N.A., where he was Managing Director and Commercial Banking Executive Vice President. He managed 13 geographically diverse Middle Market and Business Banking teams in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island. He led a team of 170 full time employees that included relationship managers, portfolio managers and support staff. Prior to Santander, Mr. Paulson served as the Regional Vice President of Commercial Banking for Wells Fargo where he was hired to lead their Greater Washington, D.C. Commercial Banking region, which included the Northern Virginia, Southern Maryland and the District of Columbia markets. Mr. Paulson worked six years as the Commercial Banking Director, Senior Vice President for Wachovia Bank, where he led their commercial banking entry in New England and launched a new middle market commercial banking team that covered the entire region. He has 29 years of industry experience.

Mr. John J. Smith has been the Chief Information & Administrative Officer and Executive Vice President at United Financial Bancorp, Inc. since January 2016. Mr. Smith has been Chief Information & Administrative Officer and Executive Vice President at United Bank since January 19, 2016. Mr. Smith has more than 30 years of experience in financial services technology and operations management. He has significant experience in merger and acquisition integration including developing required strategy, planning and roadmaps. He spent the last 10 years with New York-based CIT Group in New Jersey and served as Chief Information Officer for CIT Bank Unit from 2010 to 2015 and Chief Information Officer of Consumer & Small Business Banking from 2005 to 2010. Prior to CIT Group, he served as Chief Information Officer for operations and technology services at NYCE Corporation and held similar IT roles in his career at Summit Bank and UJB/Financial. He has gained valuable experience in managing all aspects of information technology and operations units including back-office operations, application development, data center management/operations, network management and call centers. He's led IT organizations of up to 800 professionals and has implemented effective governance structures to ensure operations and technology plans, as well as services, are aligned with business unit strategies. He also played a key role in building and launching an Internet only direct bank.
