Communication needs to be more effective. More often than not, things are lost in translation and employees are often times not on the same page. Senior leadership should definitely address this.
There is a lot of miscommunication and issues when it comes to being compliant. On several occasions I have witnessed staff enter and exit patient rooms without foaming in/out. I have also witnessed nursing staff speaking negatively about patient's while other visitors are nearby and can hear them.
Renown is the only Level II Trauma Center in the region and also has the area's only dedicated children's hospital. For this organization to have such a reputation and be the only trauma center in the region, the wages are lower than Renown's competitors (Northern Nevada and St. Mary's).
I think the ER staff (nurses, techs and unit clerks) should be more compassionate to the patient's and their families. Often times these individuals ignore call lights and spend time having side bar conversations about things unrelated to their duties- which increases wait times in the waiting room
