The atmosphere is toxic. The leadership micromanages workers. In my division, we are treated like 5-year-olds, not like professionals. Telecommuting is only allowed for a rare emergency, such as an appliance repair. Lunch must be exactly one hour, never shorter or longer without prior management approval. There is comp time, yes, but now you must have a crystal ball and know the DAY BEFORE exactly how much overtime you are going to work tomorrow or this weekend, and you must get prior approval from your manager. And trying to explain anything to management is a waste of time because they won't ever listen, too interested in blaming staff for their own shortcomings. And don't stand in front of the door - you might get knocked over by the exodus out of here, both voluntary terminations and fired employees. In short, this is NOT a fun place to work.
At least in my division, there is a lot of opportunity to step up and take charge of various job duties that nobody else wants to or has time to do. So if you want to involved or knowledgeable about different projects, it's up to you to show initiative and take it on.
