Ms. Kamil Ali-Jackson, J.D., co-founded Aclaris Therapeutics, Inc. in July 2012 and has been its Chief Legal Officer since July 2012 and has been its Secretary since August 2015 and serves as its Chief compliance officer. Ms. Ali-Jackson serves as a Partner of NeXeption, LLC. She served as the Chief Legal Officer, Chief Compliance Officer and Secretary of Ceptaris Therapeutics, Inc. (formerly Yaupon Therapeutics, Inc.). She served as Assistant Secretary of Aclaris Therapeutics, Inc. from July 2012 to August 2015. She served as an Interim General Counsel of Iroko Pharmaceuticals, LLC until April 2012. She has over 29 years of legal experience as in-house and external legal counsel in the pharmaceutical, specialty pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. She has extensive domestic and international legal and business experience in the area of product licensing, commercial transactions, FDA regulatory matters, product liability management and corporate governance matters. Prior to joining Iroko, she served as the General Counsel and Secretary of Ception Therapeutics, Inc. Prior to joining Ception Therapeutics, Inc., Ms. Ali-Jackson served as the Associate General Counsel and Vice President of Legal of Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Inc. Prior to that, Ms. Ali-Jackson served as General Counsel of Caresoft, Inc., a healthcare information and record management company. Before her tenure with Caresoft, she served as the Associate General Counsel and Vice President of Endo Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical company. Before joining Endo, she served as Legal Counsel for the vaccine and human health divisions of Merck & Co, Inc. in their human health pharmaceutical and vaccine divisions as well as a Licensing Executive. In 2011 and was named a ???Woman of Distinction??? by the Philadelphia Business Journal. She is a Member of both the Pennsylvania and New Jersey bars. Ms. Ali-Jackson obtained her JD from Harvard Law School and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University.

Dr. Stuart D. Shanler, M.D., co-founded Aclaris Therapeutics, Inc. in July 2012 and has been its Chief Scientific Officer since July 2012. Dr. Shanler co-founded Vicept Therapeutics, Inc. and served as its Chief Scientific Officer. Dr. Shanler co-founded Aspect Pharmaceuticals, where he served as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Medical Officer. He was Attending Physician and Clinical Instructor in Internal Medicine at Elmhurst General Hospital and the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He was Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Roswell Park prior to returning to Philadelphia. He has presented his research and lectured at local, national and international conferences and has co-written, edited and contributed to numerous peer reviewed articles and textbook chapters for over 20 years. He has received awards for his clinical research. Dr. Shanler is a Co-inventor of the Vicept technology. He is a Board Certified Dermatologist and Mohs micrographic surgeon. He is the only Fellow to have received the annual Institute Clinical Research Award twice. He completed an ACMS approved fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery & dermatologic surgery under the direction of Dr. Anthony Benedetto at Roswell Park. He was a Fellow in Cutaneous Oncology and Investigational Laser Therapeutics/ Photodynamic Theranpy (PDT) at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute where his research focused on PDT and the development of topical and systemic drug/laser systems for the treatment of various skin cancers. Dr. Shanler received a dual B.A. degree in Biology (Comparative Vertebrate Physiology), and the Biological Basis of Behavior from the University of Pennsylvania from which he was graduated with Honors & Distinction in Research for work performed on cytochrome oxidase. He received his M.D. degree from the Albany Medical College of Union University where he received the Albert M. Yunich Award for clinical excellence in Medicine. He completed Residency in Internal Medicine at the Beth Israel Medical Center of New York. Dr. Shanler completed Residency in Dermatology at the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Mr. Christopher V. Powala co-founded Aclaris Therapeutics, Inc. in July 2012 and has been its Chief Operating Officer since July 2012. Mr. Powala co-founded Vicept Therapeutics, Inc. in 2009 and served as its Chief Operating Officer. He served as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs & Clinical Operations of Vital Therapies, Inc. He has over 23 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and over 20 years in regulatory affairs and drug development. Prior to Vital Therapies, he served positions in formulation development and regulatory affairs with Wyeth Laboratories, Inc. Mr. Powala served as a Vice President of Drug Development and Regulatory Affairs at CollaGenex Pharmaceuticals.

Mr. Frank Ruffo co-founded Aclaris Therapeutics, Inc. in July 2012 and has been its Chief Financial Officer since July 2012. Mr. Ruffo served as Secretary of Aclaris Therapeutics, Inc. from July 2012 to August 2015. He serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Imiplex LLC. He served as Chief Financial Officer of Vicept Therapeutics, Inc. Mr. Ruffo served as Chief Financial Officer of Vicept Therapeutics, Inc. He served as Vice President of Finance at CollaGenex Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from 1996 to 2008. He has over 20 years of management experience in medical device, biotech and specialty pharmaceutical companies, ranging from early stage startups through fully integrated operations. Mr. Ruffo is a specialist in start-up biotechnology operations. He works part time for Imiplex and additional biotech startups in the greater Philadelphia area, including BioLeap Inc. He served as Finance Manager of Cabot Medical, Inc. from 1991 to 1996 and held various positions of increasing responsibility in the Healthcare & Life Sciences Practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers from 1987 to 1991. Mr. Ruffo holds a B.A. in Accounting from LaSalle University and is a certified public accountant (CPA).
