Dr. Alexei A. Andreev, Ph.D. has been a Venture Partner at Harris & Harris Group, Inc., since December 2, 2015. Dr. Andreev serves as Managing Director at AutoTech Ventures. He also founded the firm. He is co-founder and Director of the American Business Association of Russian Expatriates (AmBar). Dr. Andreev joined Harris & Harris Group as an Executive Vice President and Managing Director from March 2005 to December 2015. He served as Chief Financial Officer of Renaissance Insurance. From 2002 to March 2005, he served as an Associate of Draper Fisher Jurvetson (DFJ). Between 2002 and 2005, where he was exclusively focused on nanotechnology and material science investment opportunities. While at DFJ, he played an integral role in sourcing and funding EoPlex, Intematix, Solicore and D-Wave Systems, for which companies he served as an active Board Director or Observer. He worked for TLcom Capital Partners LLP. He spent three years as Associate with Sputnik Funds and The Sputnik Group. At Sputnik Funds, he evaluated investment opportunities, financially restructured portfolio companies and served on the board of the regional cellular provider, Techinfo Communications. He has been a Director of Carl Zeiss X-ray Microscopy, Inc. since January 2007. He is an Obersver on the board of Rollick Outdoor, Inc. He serves on the Board of Directors of Work Truck Solution, Inc. Dr. Andreev has been a Director of D-Wave Systems Inc. since 2006, EchoPixel Technology since 2013 and UberSeq since 2014. Dr. Andreev serves as a Director of EchoPixel, Inc. and Cswitch Corporation. Dr. Andreev served as a Director of Adesto Technologies Corporation from August 2010 to March 28, 2016. He served as an active Board Director or Observer of Intematix and Solicore. He served as a Director of Eoplex Technologies Inc since 2010. Dr. Andreev served as researcher at the Center of Nanotechnology (ISAN) in the Russian Academy of Sciences where he focused on the electronic and optical properties of quantum dots and multi-layered nanostructures. He was the recipient of the Scholarship for the Most Promising Young Scientist from the Russian Academy of Sciences, the State Scientific Scholarship for Outstanding Young Scientists, the Scholarship from the International Center of Fundamental Physics and the Soros Science Foundation Graduate Scholarship. Dr. Andreev holds a Ph.D. in Solid State Physics (cum laude) and a B.S. with honors in Engineering and Material Sciences from Moscow State University of Steel and Alloys. He also holds a M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
