Mr. J. Todd Scruggs has been Secretary and Treasurer at the James Financial Group Inc. since January 2004. Mr. Scruggs has been an Executive Vice President and the Chief Financial Officer of Bank of the James, a subsidiary of Bank of the James Financial Group Inc. since January 2003 and also serves as its Secretary and Treasurer. He served as Vice President of Bank of the James, with responsibilities in operations, investment and financial analysis from 1999 to December, 2002. Mr. Scruggs was an Organizer of Bank of the James from June, 1998 to July, 1999. Previously, he served as Financial Consultant and Investment Representative at Crestar Investment Group. Prior to that, he was a tax specialist and financial analyst for Ericsson GE Mobile Communications and Assistant to the Vice President of Finance and Controller of Old Dominion Box Company, Inc. He has been Director of Bank of the James Financial Group Inc. and Bank of the James since February 20, 2007. He serves on the board of Central Virginia Community College Foundation, serves on the Board of the E.C. Glass Foundation and is involved with the Alliance for Families and Children's Ways to Work Program. He has served on the board and been the treasurer of the Virginia School of the Arts. He has experience in preparing and reviewing complex financial information, investment, asset/liability management and regulatory matters. He has a Bachelor of Science in commerce from the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce. Mr. Scruggs also graduated from the University South Carolina School of Graduate Bank Investment Management.
