Dr. Niraj Vasisht, Ph.D., has been Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President at BioDelivery Sciences International, Inc. since January 2016. Dr. Vasisht served as Senior Vice President of Product Development since October 2009 until January 2016. He served as the Chief Technical Officer at BioDelivery Sciences International, Inc. since October 2009. DrHe held positions of increasing responsibility at Southwest Research Institute and served as its Director of Microencapsulation, Pharmaceutical Development and Nanomaterials, where he was responsible for leading the group that provides R&D and product development services to pharmaceutical, consumer health and nutraceutical companies. He is an internationally recognized expert in the field of microencapsulation and nanoencapsulation. He joined BDSI in 2005 as Vice President of Product Development. Dr. Vasisht has been responsible for the development, manufacturing and supply chain management of BDSI's BioErodible MucoAdhesive (BEMA(TM)) formulated products. In particular, he has been instrumental in the advancement of its lead product, ONSOLIS(TM) (formerly known as BEMA(TM) Fentanyl), from the laboratory to preparation for commercial launch in 2009. His expertise is instrumental in identifying new drug delivery platforms or products that could supplement BDSI's current technologies and product opportunities. He has made an enormous contribution to the development of BDSI's lead product ONSOLIS(TM) from the laboratory through clinical testing and regulatory review in the U.S. and Europe. He is the inventor/co-inventor on multiple patents in drug delivery. Dr. Vasisht received a BTech degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology at Kanpur, a Masters of Science from the University of New Hampshire and a Doctorate in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Mr. Ernest Robert De Paolantonio, also known as Ernie, CPA, MBA, has been the Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary at BioDelivery Sciences International, Inc. since October 10, 2013. Mr. De Paolantonio serves as Treasurer at BioDelivery Sciences International, Inc. since January, 2015. He served as Chief Financial Officer at CorePharma, L.L.C. since July 2008 until 2013. Prior to joining CorePharma, he served as an Executive Director of Finance and Controller of Colombia Laboratories from 2002 to 2008, where he was also responsible for business development and logistics, including supply chain management for the company's first commercial product launch. Additionally, he served in various financial and controller positions at Taro Pharmaceuticals, Watson Pharmaceuticals and Danbury Pharmaceutical. He has over 30 years of Finance & Accounting experience in the pharmaceutical industry and has held senior positions with US Surgical Supplies. He began his career in finance at GlaxoSmithKline, where he spent over 17 years. He served as Executive Director of Finance of Watson Pharmaceuticals, Vice President and Corporate Controller of Taro Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. and US Surgical Supplies (now a part of Covidien plc) as Director of Cost Accounting. He holds an MBA from St. Joseph's University in Finance and a BA from Lycoming College. Mr. De Paolantonio is also a licensed CPA.
