Can only speak from my experiences. Candidate applies to a rigid Rec. We have that Rec and their resume. We try to have group interviews vs. one after another to avoid duplication of common questions. We start with introductions and a general overview of the firm/team, then allow the candidate to provide a brief bio. We tag team from there and circle back to make sure the candidate gets answers to their questions. After we council and decide based on skills, asking salary and cohesion/fit.
Agree on the corporate speed dating lmao. Was so quick for me. Got the job, but literally spent 10 mins with 2 of them cuz they were running behind and 20 with the other, whom I think was the more important one.
I applied for 10 or 12 positions at the company and only received the typical rejections. Then a current employee put me into the referral database and I immediately got two interviews.
It is like corporate speed dating.
