Mr. Colin MacLaren is a Partner at Brodies LLP. Mr. MacLaren was a Partner at Paull & Williamsons LLP. Mr. MacLaren is one of Aberdeen's most prominent property lawyers and has been involved in a number of significant commercial property deals in the city, the North East, and many other parts of Scotland over the past twenty years. Formerly head of the property services group at a leading Aberdeen firm, Mr. MacLaren has focused more recently on retail and commercial development for clients across Scotland. His move to Brodies allows Mr. MacLaren to continue to develop his clients and skills with the support of the country's largest property law team, whilst assisting Brodies with its strategic aim to develop a meaningful presence in Aberdeen and the north east of Scotland. Mr. MacLaren is a Signet Accredited Solicitor in Commercial Property.

Mr. Alan Barr is the Partner at Brodies LLP. His practice area is taxation. Alan is one of Scotland's best-known tax practitioners and his practice covers the full range of taxes. He has particular experience of property tax issues including VAT and stamp duty. He advises clients on corporate tax and he has contributed widely to authoritative publications in relation to wills, tax planning and trusts. Alan has written and researched about a great many tax matters. He brings a broad depth of legal knowledge and experience to transactions and planning for a wide range of clients from the largest corporates to individuals.

Mr. Bill Drummond has been Managing Partner of Brodies LLP since 1998. Mr. Drummond took on the role with the objective of modernising the business whilst maintaining and building Brodies' strong reputation for quality in both legal advice and service delivery. Under his leadership the firm has grown from around 175 to almost 500 partners and staff and turnover has soared from ??8m to ??36m. In the period Brodies has led the way in LLP conversion, sought to embed transparency in its reporting to stakeholders and won and been short listed for numerous awards at national and regional levels for business performance, legal expertise and IT innovation. He remains closely in touch with clients by continuing his role as adviser to major corporates and private companies. He has been an Executive Committee Member of the Scottish Council for Development & Industry for six years, and for the last three, legal adviser and Board Member, having been elected Deputy-Chairman in December 2009. Mr. Drummond was identified in 2006 as one of The Lawyer Magazine's Hot 100 UK legal sector practitioners.

Mr. Grant Campbell serves as Head of Technology Team and Partner at Brodies LLP. Mr. Campbell practice area is corporate law. He continues to build the firm's Technology practice, leading from the front, and is an experienced commercial lawyer with offshore legal experience having previously practised in the Isle of Man. He advises public and private sector clients on a wide range of intellectual property, internet and technology issues and has worked on a number of large technology related procurement projects. He negotiates and drafts commercial contracts of all kinds and also advises on risk evaluation and management strategies, particularly in the areas of data protection and technology use.

Mr. Paul McMahon serves as Partner at Brodies LLP. Mr. McMahon joined Brodies in 2011. In the contentious field, Mr. McMahon represents clients regularly in the Employment Tribunal in Scotland and has appeared on a number of occasions in England and Northern Ireland in cases relating to the full range of employment law issues. He has also provided representation in the Employment Appeal Tribunal and the Sheriff Court and advises clients with regard to employment related disputes in the Court of Session. As an experienced Employment Tribunal practitioner and negotiator, he uses his expertise and tactical experience to manage cases on behalf of clients to ensure that issues are properly focused and the best outcome for the client is achieved. Mr. McMahon has strong relationships with a number of ACAS Conciliation Officers and is also a member of the Employment Tribunal National User's Group. In the non-contentious field, he works closely with and advises clients at board and management level providing employment law advice on both long term strategic issues as well as practical day-to-day advice to clients ranging from small undertakings to large companies and Government departments, Scotland's largest housing associations, further education institutions and local and national charities. Mr. McMahon is a qualified teacher and lectures on the Robert Gordon University Employment Law Masters course as well as regularly providing training to clients and speaking at internal and external conferences.
