Dr. Lynn T. Simon, M.D., MBA, CHE has been Chief Medical Officer of Community Health Systems, Inc. since May 17, 2017. Dr. Simon has been the President of Clinical Operations of Community Health Systems, Inc. since January 08, 2014 and served as its and Chief Quality Officer since January 08, 2014 until May 17, 2017. Dr. Simon served as Senior Vice President at Community Health Systems from 2010 to January 2014. She joined Community Health Systems in November 2010 to oversee the Department of Quality & Resource Management. She served as Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President of Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's HealthCare, Inc. from 2005 to 2010. She served as Physician Advisor to the Care Management Program and Vice President of Medical Affairs at Jewish Hospital in Louisville from 2004 to 2005. She served as Chief Resident at Jewish Hospital since 1989 before returning to Louisville to begin her medical practice. Her association with Jewish Hospital began at the downtown campus and she also worked with Jewish Hospital Shelbyville for several years. When the Care Management program was initiated in 2000, she served as Physician-advisor. As she became more involved with the hospital's business agenda. She served as full-time Jewish Hospital Medical Administrator since 2002 and also served as its Vice President of Medical Affairs. She has been a Director of Congregation Adath Jehsurun since July 2007 and Kindred Healthcare, Inc. since November 10, 2016. In the community, she co-chaired the American Heart Association's Operation Stroke and was President of Kentuckiana Metro Division. She was Secretary of the Judicial Council from 2005 to 2006. She serves on the Judicial Council. She is a Member of the American College of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, Greater Louisville, Kentucky, American Medical Societies, American Academy of Neurology and American College of Physician Executives, among many others. She served on Jewish Hospital HealthCare Services (JHHS) Board. She serves on Greater Louisville Medical Society's CAPS Committee. She serves as the Quality Committee Chair for the Federation of American Hospitals. In addition, she serves on the Technical Advisory Committee of the Center for Medical Interoperability, a private organization led by health systems to change how medical technologies work together. She is a Member of Medical Quality-Grants and Scholarships Committee. Many of her scholarly articles have been published in medical journals. Dr. Simon was named to Modern Healthcare's list of the 50 Most Influential Physician Executives and Leaders in 2015 and 2016 and was named to the magazine's list of the Top 25 Women in Healthcare in 2015. In 1991, she was Board certified in Neurology. She was a full-time practicing Neurologist in Louisville, Ky. for over 10 years. She was Certified Health Executive. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. She is a graduate of Indiana University and has Medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. She entered Bellarmine University's Executive MBA program from which she graduated in 2002. She completed her internship of Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago from 1985 to 1986 and a residency in neurology of Stanford University Medical Center from 1986 to 1989.Kindred Healthcare, Inc.
