Mr. Martin E. Cearnal serves as the Chief Commercial Officer and Executive Vice President at Cumberland Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and served as its Senior Vice President since January 6, 2016. Mr. Cearnal served as Senior Vice President of Marketing & Sales at Cumberland Pharmaceuticals, Inc. until January 6, 2016 and served as its Senior Vice President of Commercial Development. As a Senior Vice President, Mr. Cearnal is involved with Cumberland's commercial strategy and business development initiatives. He served as Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Vice President of Jobson Medical Information, LLC since 2006. He served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Thomson Physicians World from 2000 to 2003 and Executive Vice President-Chief Strategy Officer for Thomson Medical Education from 2003 through 2005. He joined JMI in March of 2006 and through his experience and vision has helped position JMI as leader in the healthcare community through acquisitions, partnerships and new product development. He has 40 years experience in the Healthcare industry and has been involved with the launches of such noteworthy pharmaceutical products as Lipitor???, Actos???, Intron-A???, Straterra???, Botox??? and Humira???. He represents JMI in numerous commissions, councils and associations including the Coalition for Healthcare Communication and the National Task Force on CME Provider/Industry Collaboration. Before joining JMI, he worked in a series of domestic and international positions in the Revlon Healthcare Group from 1968 until 1985. During that time, Mr. Cearnal held roles in field sales, training, management and his tenure culminated as the vice president of marketing for the International Operations Division. He then joined Physicians World Communications Group (PW) and through his direction PW became the largest provider of CME in the US by 1999. In 2000, he lead the sale of Physicians World to the Thomson Corporation and continued with Thomson through 2005. He serves the industry through his leadership and participation as founder and Board Director of the National Commission for the Certification of CME Professionals and as founder and Secretary of the Council for Independent Medical Information, among roles in many other organizations. He frequently lends his knowledge and expertise to the industry as a presenter and contributor at conferences and in industry journals and newsletters on issues of strategy, marketing, medical education and health care regulations. Mr. Cearnal has been a Director of Cumberland Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since 2004. His educational background includes a BS in marketing management from Southeast Missouri State University, with postgraduate work at the Amos Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth College and Harvard University.
