Mr. J. Russell Porter has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of Gastar Exploration Inc. since February 24, 2004. Mr. Porter actively participates in all facets of the Gastar Exploration's business and has a significant impact on both its business strategy and daily operations. He has an energy focused background, with approximately 19 years of natural gas and oil exploration and production experience and five years of banking and investment experience specializing in the energy sector. He has experience in managing natural gas and oil assets and as well as relationships with chief executives and other senior management of natural gas and oil companies and oilfield service companies throughout the United States. Mr. Porter served as the Chief Operating Officer of Gastar Exploration, Inc. from September 2000 to February 24, 2004. He served as Vice President of Corporate Development at Geostar Corp. He served as an Executive Vice President of Forcenergy, Inc. from April 1994 to September 2000. He served as Vice President of Corporate Development at Forcenergy, Inc. from October 1995 to June 1997 and served as its Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis from April 1994 to October 1995. Mr. Porter served as Vice President of the Natural Resources Group of Internationale Nederlanden (U.S.) Capital Corp. in New York since January 1992. From July 1990 to December 1991, he served as an Associate in the Energy Group of Manufacturers Hanover and Chemical Bank. He served as the Chairman of Gastar Exploration Inc. from August 2006 to January 2010. He has been a Director of Stallion Oilfield Services Ltd. since February 2010; Gastar Exploration Inc. since February 24, 2004 and Petrel Energy Limited since July 29, 2014. He serves as a Director of Stallion Oilfield Holdings, Inc. and Caza Oil & Gas, Inc. Mr. Porter holds Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Land Management from Louisiana State University and an MBA from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Mr. Keith R. Blair has been Vice President and Exploration Manager of Gastar Exploration Inc. since 2008. Mr. Blair joined Gastar Exploration Inc. in August 2005 as a Senior Staff Geologist. He has 30 years of natural gas and oil experience. He has extensive working knowledge of natural gas and oil basins in Colorado, New Mexico, East Texas, West Virginia/Pennsylvania, Offshore Gulf of Mexico and the Texas/Louisiana Gulf Coast. He was an Independent Exploration Geologist from 1999 to 2005. He served as a Senior Geophysicist of Schlumberger Limited from 1995 to 1999. Prior to 1995, he served as an Exploration Manager/Supervisor position at Conoco Phillips for 14 years. He began his career as a well logging engineer with Halliburton Company. Mr. Blair graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology.

Mr. Michael A. Gerlich has been the Chief Financial Officer of Gastar Exploration Inc. since joining on May 17, 2005 and its Corporate Secretary since March 8, 2011. Mr. Gerlich has been Senior Vice President of Gastar Exploration Inc. since June 7, 2013 and serves as its Treasurer. He served as Vice President of Gastar Exploration Inc. from May 17, 2005 to June 7, 2013. Since 1999, he held various accounting and finance positions at Calpine Natural Gas LP, a wholly owned subsidiary of Calpine Corporation. He served as the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Calpine Natural Gas Co. since 1997 and served as its Secretary since May 1998. His last position at Calpine Natural Gas LP was Senior Vice President - Accounting and Finance, for the natural gas and oil operations of the wholly-owned subsidiary. From 1994 to 1999, he served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Sheridan Energy, Inc. Mr. Gerlich has over 32 years of natural gas and oil accounting and finance experience. He served as the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of TGX Corporation since December 1994 and its Interim President since April 1997. Since January 1993, he owned and managed Chalk Hill Resources, Inc. He held various accounting and finance positions with Trinity Resources, Ltd. for over 12-years. He served as the Chief Financial Officer of Trinity Resources, Inc. He served as an Executive Vice President of Trinity Resources, Inc., from January 1989 to December 1992 and served as its Vice President of Finance from May 1982 to December 1988. He was with a big four accounting firm, where the focus of his practice was with energy related clients. He has been a Director of TGX Corporation (merger) since 1997. He served as a Director of Calpine Natural Gas Co., since 1997. He was a Director of PetroPoint Energy Partners, LP. Mr. Gerlich is a Certified Public Accountant of AICPA and graduated with honors from Texas A&M University in 1978 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting.

Stephen Roberts serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Gastar Exploration Inc.. Stephen started at Gastar Exploration Inc. in June of 2017. Stephen is currently based in the Austin, Texas Area.

Harry Quarls serves as the Director of Gastar Exploration Inc.. Harry started at Gastar Exploration Inc. in May of 2018. Harry is currently based in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area.

Trent Determann serves as the Vice President - Finance of Gastar Exploration Inc.. Trent started at Gastar Exploration Inc. in November of 2016. Trent is currently based in the Houston, Texas Area.
