How helpful was your Admin team when you were first hired at Genentech?

I had one Admin I worked with when I first started who was invaluable; but if it hadn't been for her I wouldn't have known who any Admins were. There is no introduction or any other program to know/meet other Admins, there certainly isn't anything set up for any sort of backup. Most Admins work while sick, on vacation, and on sabbatical. Some have even worked on medical leave and had their reviews "dinged" for being on medical leave.
