We have some excellent managers who care and want to do the right thing for patients, customers, and team members.

Redundancy is rampant in this company. If they don't find more blockbusters, people will be let go. Avoid IT and diagnostics.

What is the best part about your compensation package?
Healthcare benefit is quite fair

Great benefits and perks! In addition to regular benefits, there are onsite services, like health care center, a gym, and a childcare centee.

Vacation days, Holidays, Genentech has a grandfathered sabbatical benefit where after 6 years of FTE employment you get 6 weeks of paid vacation time to use.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I wish that contractors had more benefits as well as opportunities for attaining a permanent position here at Genentech. I feel that a lot of the work that contractors do goes above and beyond their call to duty but without the compensation that should come with that level of responsibility.
More bonus and stock. There isn't enough scope for good bonuses compared with employee expectations
This company promotes mediocrity from within. When you bring in new blood they are threatened. Beware of your managers.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
They need to remove those that have been there for 20 years and have no experience in the space. Simply stealing other people's ideas.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The peole are motivated to help patients
The leadership team takes care of the employees and the style trickles down to line managers. I appreciate how caring my manager is, while giving us the independence to run our own projects.

Transparency, alignment, oversight, recognition, focus
too much tolerance of bad behavior and inefficient or subpar work
Pay more. Genentech pays the least out of all the major bio tech companies.

I dont generally like interviews but I liked that it wasnt a big hroup of interviewers at once
They hire the best of the best! Looking for skills and qualities that go beyond just the role individuals apply for but the longevity of their stay with the company.

There are far too many interviews per position. The HR team needs to make sure they tell the person whether or not they have the job and provide feedback.
What makes you most happy at work?
Work-life balance, good people to work with, smart teams
I have a decent compensation and I love what I do.
