Redundancy is rampant in this company. If they don't find more blockbusters, people will be let go. Avoid IT and diagnostics.

Taking care of workers and their families
Healthcare benefit is quite fair
Lots of benefits... Can't complain
Great benefits and perks! In addition to regular benefits, there are onsite services, like health care center, a gym, and a childcare centee.
Parental leave and stocks, benefits price, 401K company match
Vacation days, Holidays, Genentech has a grandfathered sabbatical benefit where after 6 years of FTE employment you get 6 weeks of paid vacation time to use.
I wish that contractors had more benefits as well as opportunities for attaining a permanent position here at Genentech. I feel that a lot of the work that contractors do goes above and beyond their call to duty but without the compensation that should come with that level of responsibility.
More bonus and stock. There isn't enough scope for good bonuses compared with employee expectations
This company promotes mediocrity from within. When you bring in new blood they are threatened. Beware of your managers.

Engineers make less than other companies. Scientists are paid above average.

Management makes the most money while everyone else at the bottom fights for scraps.
Review from Operations Dept
Collegial, psychologically safe, knowledgeable, and action-oriented
Once again, they embrace the culture of extending a helping hand, show respect to everyone regardless of your accent or looks, and are really motivated employees.
committed, hard working, collaborative, passionate
we are united and have a good working relationship
Multidisciplinary and well intentioned members
They need to remove those that have been there for 20 years and have no experience in the space. Simply stealing other people's ideas.

Listen to me please I need listen
Coworkers set each other up for failure in attempt to make themselves look better.

The peole are motivated to help patients
The leadership team takes care of the employees and the style trickles down to line managers. I appreciate how caring my manager is, while giving us the independence to run our own projects.
we believe in diversity and inclusion different ways of working, different ways of thinking and different cultural backgrounds
Leadership and management try to be supportive
People and progress, everyone working toward doing what patients need next
Transparency, alignment, oversight, recognition, focus
too much tolerance of bad behavior and inefficient or subpar work
Pay more. Genentech pays the least out of all the major bio tech companies.
Review from Operations Dept
I dont generally like interviews but I liked that it wasnt a big hroup of interviewers at once
They hire the best of the best! Looking for skills and qualities that go beyond just the role individuals apply for but the longevity of their stay with the company.
it was very resonable !
Review from Operations Dept
The interviewing process was not draining and felt very relaxed. I enjoyed the openness of the interview and felt very comfortable throughout the whole process.
Relaxed, punctual, excitingly challenging, thoughtful
Faster decisions and letting the direct manager make decisions.
Review from IT Dept
Very long, interviewed with 13 people
There are far too many interviews per position. The HR team needs to make sure they tell the person whether or not they have the job and provide feedback.
Work-life balance, good people to work with, smart teams
I have a decent compensation and I love what I do.
Getting to try new things and learn.
Review from Engineering Dept
Occasional celebrations that focus on floor staff accomplishments
co workers, environment, the attempts to make everyone feel welcomed.
Managers don't know anything but reap all the benefits of their team.
Review from Operations Dept
More training for executive level
