As a leading serial entrepreneur, Mr. Burns has raised a quarter billion dollars to date in private placements to build successful businesses. Mr. Burns has provided the leadership for Glaukos since its founding in 2001. He is a leader in the ophthalmic industry having built substantial value, delivered rapid growth and created entirely new commercial product classes and global markets in senior leadership roles at three major, successful start-up companies. He serves as a Director of Glaukos Corporation. He served as a Director of Eyetech. Mr. Burns received his bachelor s degree in history from Yale University.

Liepmann Professor of Aeronautics and Professor of Bioinspired Engineering specializing in Hydro and aerodynamics, biological flows, bio-inspired medical devices, and advanced flow visualization techniques. He holds more than 25 U.S. Patents in areas of Biomedical Devices and Imaging Technology. He is a fellow of the American association for the advancement of science (AAAS) and five other professional societies. He has received 5 new technology recognition awards from NASA in the fields of advanced laser imaging and nanotechnology. He was a recipient of R&D 100 award for the design of a 3D imaging system in 2008. He is involved in multiple hi-tech startup companies. His research includes diverse topics and technologies, for example, Bio-inspired Design and Engineering, Imaging, Cardiovascular Research, Wind & Sea, Energy, Carbon Nanotubes, and Micro/Nano-Scale Mechanics, among others. He received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tehran University (1975) and then pursued his graduate studies at Syracuse University (M.S., 1978, Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering) and Caltech (Ph.D., 1983, Aeronautics).

Mr. L. Jay Katz, MD, FACS, has been the Chief Medical Officer of Glaukos Corporation since February 22, 2017. Mr. Katz serves as Professor of Ophthalmology at Jefferson Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mr. Katz serves as a Director of the Glaucoma Service, Wills Eye Hospital. Dr. Katz has been the recipient of several awards, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) Senior Achievement Award in 2002 and the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) Faculty Award in 2003. He was named Distinguished Alumnus of the Yale University Eye Center in 2003 and became an Honored Life Member of the Philadelphia Ophthalmic Club in 2007. Dr. Katz received his MD degree from the Yale University School of Medicine. He completed an internship in internal medicine at the University of Virginia, a residency in ophthalmology at Yale University and a fellowship in glaucoma at Wills Eye Hospital. He holds a B.A. (summa cum laude) from Case Western Reserve University.
