King's Hawaiian was founded in 1955 by Robert Taira. The company has grown from a small bakery operation in Hawaii to a distribution company selling bread and rolls nationwide from plants in Torrance, CA and Oakwood, GA. Its products can be found in the bakery sections of select grocery stores including Safeway, Albertson's, and HEB. Growing company that produces strong products embraced by customers. Company has gone through some changes in leadership but I am optimistic that we are headed in the right direction. There are "culture clusters" by location (CA/GA/retail) but there are efforts to establish unity.
