How employees describe working at Lifelong Medical Care
We provide amazing service and help clients find the care and support they need to become independent and self-sufficient.
i am hoping changes at the highest leadership levels will improve the company culture which has featured wild disorganization, lack of communication, and seemingly haughty attitudes among senior leadership along with ignorance of clinic-level difficulties and basic procedures.

How much diversity is there among employees at Lifelong Medical Care?
The workforce is around 95% women, 70% women of color. There is only 1 male in middle management which is around 5%. The majority of males in the organization are Organizational C-Suite(4) with only 1 latino male in Regional Director Role(10% at that level of administration).
THere's a concerted effort to make LMC more diverse in it's workforce. Though there are middle managers who are predominantly black or hispanic women only.
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Lifelong Medical Care?
Лучший ответ сотрудника
Decentralize leadership/administration allowing each program/separate clinic or program to act independently in regards to hiring, budgeting, billing, call center etc.....
Some ideas for improving the culture of LMC would be to allow more individual clinic and program autonomy related to making business decisions. Also, having administrative support that is focused on education and training related to what the employees want versus what the administration thinks is needed. Having experienced leadership throughout the organization that is not simply "management"(old school) based and keeps up with changes in leadership development. Psychosocial perspectives in administration are also needed versus medical model based perspectives.
What are you most excited about working at Lifelong Medical Care?
Nothing really. It's not an organization that really creates an environment where employees "get excited" about the work they're doing. Everyone is asked to do more than is possible and resources at the direct care level are slim while administrative office personnel keeps growing and salaries at that level are significantly more than people who actually provide the care to our patients.
Why work for Lifelong Medical Care?
No other choice.
How's the morale at Lifelong Medical Care?
Very low overall. Decisions get made at higher levels of the organization and input from the actual clinics and programs that provide care to the patients is not at all valued. The Board and Senior Leadership are not in touch with the actual operations on the ground.

Very low compared to similar programs in healthcare. Somewhere between 60k and 80k for someone with many years of experience and a Master's Degree
What's the Operations team like at Lifelong Medical Care?
Many of the managers and directors have very different experience and skill based. There's a culture of hiring MPH and MBA's who don't seem to have any experience running healthcare programs. There are lots of pilot projects that don't have any follow through and waste precious resources.
How's the leadership on the Operations team at Lifelong Medical Care?
Lacking in resources and understanding of running a healthcare business. Financial support is extremely weak and mentorship is pretty non-existant. Men are in short or no supply in operations which seems to be a conscious choice by the organization.

50 or more per week and getting paid for 40 hours a week

Relatively fair for a non-profit. 3 weeks to start is common.
How does Lifelong Medical Care make decisions around promotions?
Rather haphazardly and not with much transparency. It seems the culture here is to promote women and people of color as an affirmative action type of policy. Caucasian and male employees do not tend to be hired or promoted from what I've seen over the last 3 years.
