Mr. Hugh Grant has been the Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Monsanto Company since October 2003 and since August 2012 respectively. Mr. Grant served as President of Monsanto Company from May 2003 to August 2012. He served as the Chief Operating Officer of Monsanto Company from August 2000 to 2003 and served as its Executive Vice President from August 2000 to May 29, 2003. He has been in agriculture since 1981 and served a variety of management positions. He worked in a number of international locations, including Asia and Europe, as well as the United States. He served as Co-President of Agricultural Sector at Pharmacia LLC since 1998. Mr. Grant served as a Director of Global Roundup(R) Product Strategy of Pharmacia LLC since 1994 and served as its General Manager of Agricultural Sector for Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand & South Korea Company since 1995. He joined Monsanto as a product development representative for its agricultural business in 1981. He has been an Independent Director of PPG Industries, Inc. since September 15, 2005 and serves as its Independent Lead Director. Mr. Grant has been a Director of Monsanto Company since May 2003. He served as a Member of International Advisory Board at Scottish Development International Ltd. He served as a Trustee of Donald Danforth Plant Science Center. He is Chairman of Civic Progress. He serves as Member of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences. He holds Post Graduate Diploma in Agriculture from Edinburgh University. Mr. Grant holds a BS in Molecular Biology and Agricultural Zoology from Glasgow University, MS in Agriculture from Edinburgh University and an MBA from International Management Center in Buckingham UK.
