Mr. Steven P. Gelone, also known as Steve, Pharm.D., has been Chief Development Officer of Nabriva Therapeutics AG since 2014. Mr. Gelone has been Chief Scientific Officer of Nabriva Therapeutics plc since June 30, 2017. Mr. Gelone served as Head of Business Development of Nabriva Therapeutics Plc since July 21, 2017. Dr. Gelone served as the Chief Development Officer at Nabriva Therapeutics Plc since December 01, 2014 until July 21, 2017. He served as Member of Management Board at Nabriva Therapeutics plc since January 1, 2015. Dr. Gelone served as Vice President of Clinical Development Programs of ViroPharma Inc. since October 2008. His primary responsibility was leadership and co-ordination of development activities within the NDA/MAA/NDS submission team for maribavir, ViroPharma's anti-cytomegalovirus compound. He has 17 years of industry and academic experience in the area of infectious diseases and antimicrobials clinical research. He served as Vice President of Medical Affairs of ViroPharma Inc. Prior to joining ViroPharma in 2005, he served as Senior Director of Medical Science Liaison field force of Vicuron Pharmaceuticals Inc. since April 2004. He served as director of medical affairs at Vicuron Pharmaceuticals from 2002 to 2003. He served as vice president of clinical and preclinical development at ViroPharma Incorporated from 2005 to 2014. He was responsible for Vicuron Pharmaceuticals Inc.'s medical science liaisons in the Eastern region of the United States. He served as the Head of Clinical Research and Development at Spark Therapeutics. From 2001 to 2002, he served as Director of Clinical Pharmacology and Discovery Medicine in antimicrobial drug discovery for GlaxoSmithKline from 2000 to 2002. He is an Associate Professor of Community Medicine and Preventive Health at Drexel University College of Medicine. He spent 12 years at Temple University, where he had broad responsibilities in anti-infective education, clinical research and patient management and was director of clinical research, director of residency and fellowship programs (School of Pharmacy), adjunct associate professor in the division of infectious diseases, Senior Research Fellow and Steering Committee Member for the General Clinical Research Center (School of Medicine). He served as a Member of Management Board at Nabriva Therapeutics AG since January 1, 2015 until July 14, 2015. He served as an Associate Professor of Pharmacy and Assistant Professor of Medicine specializing in infectious disease at the Temple University School of Pharmacy. He has extensive experience with anti-infective products, serving as Principal Investigator on more than 50 research studies and has been involved in the formulary evaluation of new antibacterial and antifungal agents. On the patient management side, he served for 10 years as Director of the Antimicrobial Management Program at Temple University Hospital, where he ran a clinical service managing hospital patients on anti-infective regimens. Dr. Gelone holds both a Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Temple University School of Pharmacy.
