Mr. James A. Johnson also known as Jim, is the Chairman of Johnson Capital Partners and served as Vice Chairman of Perseus L.L.C., from April 2001 to June 2012. He served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Fannie Maefrom February 1991 to 1998 and as its Vice Chairman from 1990 to February 1991. His other Professional Experience and Community Involvement includes : He served as Chairman Emeritus for John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Chairman Emeritus for The Brookings Institution, Council Member of Smithsonian Museum of African American History and Culture and Chair for Advisory Council at Stanford University Center on Longevity. He was a Member of Council on Foreign Relations and Member of American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Prior to joining NanoString, Mr. Johnson served as Chief Financial Officer of Relypsa, Inc., a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company. Prior to Relypsa, Mr. Johnson served for nearly 10 years as Chief Financial Officer of ZymoGenetics, Inc., Previously, he served for seven years as Chief Financial Officer of Targeted Genetics Corporation (now AmpliPhi) and as Vice President of Finance at Immunex Corporation during its evolution from product development to commercial operations. Mr. Johnson received a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Washington. He is a Graduate of University of Minnesota and the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, Princeton University.
