The company used to be edgy and supportive of its employees; now, we are just another number and while we deliver a huge profit for the investors, the company does not adequately invest in its employees or care about their wellbeing; it also has not considered the best way to plan for the future
We all feel safe to express ourselves
It has its benefits for sure, but the "one cup at a time" model can be super stressful especially on weekends, when we're super busy. Coworkers are either great or terrible, and leadership is not merit based but connection based.
Great people to work with
First working here I expected the manager to genuinely care about the employees because Philz is such a good company. The Colma manager treats the baristas like overworked bees and doesnt seem to care about our wellbeing. We are pushed to work pending our covid test results. I dont feel comfortable.
