Mr. Richard W. Brace, also known as Rick, has been President of Media Business Unit at Rogers Communications Inc. since August 10, 2015. A strong business leader with a proven track record, Mr. Brace has more than 35 years of experience in the sports and media industries. Mr. Brace served as the President of Ctv Television Inc. He served as the President of Specialty Channels and CTV Production at BCE Inc. and Bell media Inc. from July 8, 2013 to December 31, 2013. He served as President of Revenue and Business Planning at CTV Inc. He served as President of Revenue Business Planning and Sports of CTV Inc., an operating division of CTVglobemedia Inc. (formerly Bell Globemedia, Inc.) since October 1, 2007. Mr. Brace served as President of CTV Inc. from October 2002 to October 1, 2007. He led all aspects of the CTV's revenue streams, (conventional, specialty and interactive advertising; cable, satellite and new media subscription) and all business unit planning. He also oversaw CTV's interest in 14 specialty channels, 21 conventional television stations, music publishing and production houses, as well as for sales and programming. Previously, he served as President of CTV Specialty Television Inc. (formerly NetStar Communications Inc.), responsible for the administration and operations of CTV Specialty, which majority owns TSN, RDS, Discovery Channel and Dome Productions, among other properties. He also served as President of CTV Specialty Sports and Senior Vice President of CTV Sports and OLN, a position he held since May 2000. In this role, he was responsible for the programming, production, acquisition, sales, marketing and affiliate relations of CTV's sports programming and its sports-related specialty channels. In Fall 2001, he led the launch of several digital specialty channels, including: Animal Planet, Discovery Civilization, ESPN Classic Canada, NHL Network and CTV Travel. Previously, he served as President of TSN, responsible for the day-to-day operations of the all-sports network. His TSN career began in 1986, when he joined the network as a Producer and in 1989, he was named Director of Programming and in 1990, was promoted to Vice-President of Programming. In 1997, he was named TSN's Executive Vice-President and General Manager and co-ordinated the network's acquisition of major properties including World Cup of Soccer, the NHL and the Olympics. He began his career in 1975 as a Technician with CBC and was part of the network's 1976 Summer Olympics broadcast team. He joined CBC Sports in 1980, where he produced and directed Sportsweekend, a weekly anthology program, CFL games, Formula One races and the 1984 Summer and Winter Olympics. He serves as Chairman of the board of CTV Specialty Television Inc. He serves on the Board for the Hockey Hall of Fame and the Sports Celebrities Festival, which supports the Special Olympics. Mr. Brace graduated from Ryerson Polytechnic University with a degree in radio and television arts.
