Mr. Tim H. Carter has been Executive Vice President of Southside Bancshares, Inc. since September 30, 2017. Mr. Carter served as Regional President of North Texas at Southside Bancshares, Inc. until September 30, 2017. In this role, Mr. Carter was responsible for the strategic planning, coordination and implementation of bank operations in the North Texas region. He served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Omniamerican BanCorp. Inc. from July 2007 to December 17, 2014. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of OmniAmerican Bank from 2007 to December 17, 2014. He was responsible for the strategic planning, coordination and implementation of all bank operations and for working with OmniAmerican's board of directors to establish the overall direction and culture, including developing philosophies for customers and employees. Prior to OmniAmerican Bank, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of United Way of Metropolitan Tarrant County. He began accumulating his 25 years of banking experience in President of TCB-Fort Worth in 1992. Along with an outstanding banking career, he has served as the President School International Board of Visitors and Mayfest, Inc. Mr. Carter became Chairman of Chase Bank-Fort Worth (formerly TCB) in 1998. He left Chase Bank in 2001 following the merger of Chase Bank with JPMorgan. He has been a Director of Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas since January 01, 2013. He serves on the boards of The Fort Worth Club, Mayor's Advisory Commission on Homelessness, Fort Worth Promotion and Development Fund and the Safe City Commission. He serves on the Board of Texas Wesleyan University, the Fort Worth Club, the Fort Worth Promotion and Development Fund, the Federal Home Loan Bank, the Safe City Commission, the TCU Business School International Board of Visitors and the Arlington Chamber of Commerce. He served as a Director at Omniamerican Bancorp, Inc. and Omniamerican Bank from 2007 to December 17, 2014. He served on the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council. Mr. Carter served on the board of Harris Methodist Health System, Fort Worth Public Library Foundation, Gladney Center for Adoption, the William Mann Jr., Community Development Corporation, Downtown Fort Worth Inc., the Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce, Fort Worth Country Day School, Texas New Mexico Power Co., InfoSphere, Inc., JaGee Holdings and Worthington National Bank. He has further solidified his place in the community through positions as chairman of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, Harris Methodist Southwest Hospital, the National Conference for Community and Justice and the Fort Worth American Heart Association. He was elected Bellaire City Councilman in 1986 and served as Mayor of the City of Bellaire from 1988 to 1992. He served as a Director of Southside Bank since May 2015. He also served as Chairman of the Bellaire Economic Development Council from 1991 to 1992. Mr. Carter graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance in 1977 and attended UT on a four year athletic scholarship where his swimming won him recognition as an All Southwest Conference athlete.
