State farm is very flexible in proximity with working from home. The workload is so great there is no worry about someone goofing off as it will show up in measured metrics very quickly. Employees can be more productive not wasting time commuting and it cuts employer costs having employees working from home (after all it shifts all overhead for facilities and utilities to the employee). While it would be nice if State Farm gave employees some allowance for high speed Internet, added utility costs, etc I think the added costs are more than offset but not having commuter costs such as gas, tolls, wear and tear on personal car etc. StateFarm is great to work for in this regard.
The main question that I have is would it be possible to work for SF and live outside the country example maybe Canada. 3 weeks at home and 1 week in office. Do state farm even cares where you work as long as the job gets done?
Each agent makes the decision if a team member can work from home. A headset is available that you use with your laptop. It connects to the phone systems at the office. You are able to log on from home & connect directly to office.
Depends on your job level. The higher up you are, there is more flexibility; however, most non-leadership do not get this opportunity.
