Mr. Matthew Pauls, also known as Matt, has been the Chief Executive Officer and President of Cortendo AB since August 2014. Mr. Pauls has been the Chief Executive Officer and President of Strongbridge Biopharma plc since August 25, 2014. Prior to joining Strongbridge Biopharma in 2014, Mr. Pauls served as the Chief Commercial Officer of Insmed Incorporated from April 1, 2013 to August 2014. In this role, he built out the global commercial strategy and organization and led the global technical operations efforts. He played a key role in investor interactions and financings. He has more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including senior-level leadership positions, with an emphasis on general management, global product launches, commercial operations, business development, clinical development and technical operations at leading pharmaceutical companies including Shire Pharmaceuticals, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Johnson & Johnson. Prior to Shire, he served with Bristol-Myers Squibb as Senior Director of Payor Marketing for their Neuroscience Franchise. Mr. Pauls spent eight years with Johnson & Johnson in positions of increasing responsibility in their CNS Franchise, including Global Commercial Leader and Director of Strategic Marketing. He was with Shire Pharmaceuticals, served as Senior Vice President and Head of Global Commercial Operations, Shire Regenerative Medicine. In this role, he led the global commercial function of a business unit with a staff of approximately 300 including a 200-person U.S. sales team. He served as Vice President, Product General Manager, Shire Specialty Pharmaceuticals Behavioral Health Business Unit, where he had P&L responsibility for Vyvanse(R) in the U.S. and Intuniv(R) globally. He began his career as a pharmaceutical sales representative for Carter Wallace. He served as the Chairman of the Board at Mast Therapeutics, Inc from October 2015 to April 2017. He has been Director at Savara Inc. since October 2015. He has been a Director of Cortendo AB since September 2015; Strongbridge Biopharma plc since September 4, 2015 and Mast Therapeutics, Inc. since October 2015. Mr. Pauls is a volunteer board member of the Pennington School in Pennington, New Jersey and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia. Mr. Pauls holds BS and MBA degrees from Central Michigan University and a JD from Michigan State University College of Law.

Dr. Fredric Cohen, also known as Fred, M.D. has been Chief Medical Officer at Strongbridge Biopharma plc (also know as Cortendo AB) since November 29, 2016. Dr. Cohen served as Senior Vice President of Global Research and Development at Strongbridge Biopharma plc from June 9, 2016 to November 29, 2016 and served as its Vice President of Clinical Research & Development from November 2015 to June 9, 2016. Dr. Cohen an endocrinologist with more than 20 years of therapeutics development and related experience in the life science industry. He has served as President of Pharma Growth Strategies, LLC (PGS) since 2004. Dr. Cohen served as the Vice President of Clinical Strategy at Medidata FT, Inc. since April 19, 2007. Dr. Cohen was a research-trained physician and a pharmaceutical industry veteran who has broad expertise in drug development gained from his prior employment at Eli Lilly and Company and Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research and Development, where he focused in rare disease and specialty products. He holds an MD from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and an AB in biology from Franklin and Marshall College.

Dr. Per Marin, M.D. Ph.D. founded Strongbridge Biopharma plc in 1996 and serves as its Senior Clinical Advisor. Dr. Marin serves as the Head of the Diabetes and Endocrinology Section at Capio Axess Clinic in Goteborg. Prior appointments also included Chief of the Medical Clinic and Head of the Emergency department at Sahlgrens University Hospital. He is well-recognized internationally for his pioneering studies on endocrine disturbances in obesity and metabolic syndrome, in particular, intervention studies demonstrating the importance of testosterone, estrogen, growth hormone and cortisol in the development of metabolic syndrome. He discovered and described the concept of cortisol regulation as a treatment for metbolic syndrome in 1991 and filed the first patent on cortisol regulation in 1994. In his doctoral thesis in 1992 he published novel methods for evaluating central metabolic events in the human body. He served as a teacher of internal medicine since 1989 and Associate Professor of Internal Medicine since 1994. He was a post of Researcher at Swedish Medical Research Council in 1996. Dr. Marin received his Medical degree in 1978 at Sahlgrens University Hospital in Goteborg, Sweden and has practiced medicine and clinical research for more than thirty years.
