Mr. Marek Bakun has been the Chief Financial Officer at The St. Joe Company since October 7, 2013 and as its Executive Vice President since May 2014. Mr. Bakun served as Principal Accounting Officer of The St. Joe Company from October 16, 2015 to March 28, 2016 and also served as Senior Vice President. He served as the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Orleans Homebuilders, Inc. since February 2011 and served as its Senior Vice President. With responsibilities as the Chief Financial Officer for national and international homebuilding companies, his experience includes financial reporting and compliance, cost and capital management, consolidations and acquisitions, value generation as well as operational efficiency. Prior to joining Orleans, Mr. Bakun spent 15 years in corporate finance, including five years as a Chief Financial Officer in the homebuilding industry. He served as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for Mattamy Homes Corporation with responsibility for financial controls in its five U.S. markets. He served as Chief Financial Officer for Taylor Morrison, a national builder developer in the US and Canada that sold more than 6,000 new homes valued at more than $2 billion annually. He began his career as an auditor and joined Morrison Homes in 1999, holding numerous positions. Since August 2006, he served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Morrison Homes. When Morrison Homes merged with Taylor Woodrow in 2007, Mr. Bakun managed the financial integration of the two multi-billion dollar companies and continued as Chief Financial Officer for the U.S. and Canadian operations until 2008 when he joined Mattamy Homes Corporation. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Accounting from the University of Central Florida. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a licensed general contractor and real estate broker.
