Fundado em 1937, é reconhecido como um dos hospitais mais tradicionais do Rio de Janeiro. O setor de Emergência é o maior e mais ágil da zona sul. Possui um completo e moderno centro cirúrgico, centro de robótica e hemodinâmica. Conta com 210 leitos, sendo 97 de UTI, realizando cerca de 6 mil cirurgias, 600 mil exames, 700 mil atendimentos anualmente. No hospital há mais de 1000 colaboradores diretos.
