Mr. Erin Thomas Morton has been President and General Counsel of Switch, Inc. since June 13, 2017 and serves as its Secretary. Mr. Morton has been President of Switch, Ltd. since January 2016 and has been its General Counsel since April 2008. He served as Chief Financial Officer of Switch, Ltd. from February 2014 to January 2016. Prior to joining Switch, Ltd., he was an attorney with Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP from 2004 to 2008 and an attorney with Gray Cary (now DLA Piper) from 1999 to 2004. He represented Pillsbury Winthrop's clients in the areas of intellectual property and business counseling and also represented its large institutional clients in connection with technology, telecom, outsourcing transactions, acquisition due diligence and other technology-related commercial transactions. In addition to representing large-scale transactions, he represented companies on hundreds of software license agreements, patent and technology license agreements, development agreements, OEM/distributor/reseller agreements, consulting and technical services agreements, joint venture/strategic partner agreements, technology transfer agreements, asset purchase agreements, manufacturing and supply agreements and e-commerce and Internet transactions. He also counseled technology clients on intellectual property rights, trade secret and copyright issues, as well as privacy, data protection matters and e-commerce issues. Prior to his work in the legal field, he was an accountant for a Fortune 500 manufacturer, where he assisted with corporate-wide forecasting and merger and acquisition strategies. He serves as Director of Sacramento Area Regional Technology Alliance. He serves as a board member of McClellan Technology Incubator. He has been a board member of Intellectual Property Law Section of the Sacramento Bar Association since 2001. Mr. Morton received a B.A., Finance from the University of San Diego and a JD from the University of the Pacific ??? McGeorge School of Law.
