Prior to Aventail, Chris was STO for Spry, the first internet in a box offering. Spry was acquired by CompuServe in 1996. Chris has also authored over 14 patents throughout his career.

In addition to representing large-scale transactions, he represented companies on hundreds of software license agreements, patent and technology license agreements, development agreements, OEM/distributor/reseller agreements, consulting and technical services agreements, joint venture/strategic partner agreements, technology transfer agreements, asset purchase agreements, manufacturing and supply agreements and e-commerce and Internet transactions. He also counseled technology clients on intellectual property rights, trade secret and copyright issues, as well as privacy, data protection matters and e-commerce issues. Prior to his work in the legal field, he was an accountant for a Fortune 500 manufacturer, where he assisted with corporate-wide forecasting and merger and acquisition strategies. He serves as Director of Sacramento Area Regional Technology Alliance. He serves as a board member of McClellan Technology Incubator. He has been a board member of Intellectual Property Law Section of the Sacramento Bar Association since 2001.
