lack communication, honestly despite my best efforts to improve quality of work, employees who didnt feel i was excelling did not confront me with their concerns and instead complained to jessica who was already giving me a hard time, in turn jessica would not come to me with concerns in the moment

Being nice and helpful. Learn how to communicate with every employee. Present yourself as an approvable person. Ask employees if they need help. Don't leave employees feeling uninvolved. Just better communication and attitude.
