In your opinion, what are the most common interview questions that Protective Life asks?
Most questions are trying to understand the candidates experience and their philosophy re: previous experience. They are trying to understand how their personality will fit-in and at times challenge the status quo. No specific standardized questions.
What kind of interview questions do they ask when hiring someone in the Marketing department at Protective Life?
Emotional intelligence is highly valued. Ability to prove experience and articulate lessons learned from successes and failures. Desire to continue learning. Comfort with some level of risk to experiment.
What does the ideal candidate in the Marketing department look like at Protective Life?
Curious, friendly, personable, respectful, proactive, self-sufficient, comfort owning a project/initiative and being able to execute multiple moving parts. Attention to detail is paramount. Critical thinking skills balanced with a creative approach to problems. Ability to work independently and on teams. Willingness to pitch-in and help team members when needed. "Not my job/Not my problem," attitude need not apply.
How flexible is your work schedule at Protective Life?
I think it varies by role and department, but my personal experience is that it is very flexible. I'm able to work remotely when needed. I can move my schedule around to accommodate personal needs. My workload is mine to manage and my productivity is judged on results that I am held accountable to regardless of schedule. Autonomy to manage my workload and being held accountable for it works for me, but may not work in other areas of the organization.
