  • Most people work at home one day per week, usually Friday, but there is a lot of flexibility

  • Most people work from home one day a week, and if somebody needs to occasionally work from home other days, managers are usually happy to accommodate them.

  • Usually whiteboard coding questions. No puzzles or trick questions, just "can you code"

  • You should be comfortable writing code on the whiteboard. You should understand algorithms, data structures, scaling, and system design. You should know something about the app, know why you want to work at Pandora, and have good questions to ask the interviewers.

  • There are usually 4-5 engineers interviewing you for 45 minutes each. Most ask a coding question (not super tricky, but be comfortable coding in Java or Python on a whiteboard), and a few design and high level questions. Some advice: (1) do your homework and learn about the company and product, (2) have good questions to ask the interviewer, and don't ask them all the same question, (3) be able to explain why you want to work at Pandora.

  • Trivial. We do not have a "grind them into the ground" culture by any measure. 40/week is the wide spread norm. Folks adjust their schedule ad hoc to fit in social events, be it a concert, family oriented holidays, athletic events and other events.

  • SiriusXM's Engineering team rates their overall benefits a B+ and most of them think the perks are Good. 80% of SiriusXM employees in Engineering say they are satisfied with their benefits. The majority of employees in Engineering also get 15-20 days of paid vacation, and most of them believe the cash value of their benefits is $1000 -$1500/mo.
