What is the best advice you could give someone during their first month at Hot Topic?

Ask for help and always ask questions about product policy and standards. Always make sure you want to learn. Make sure to know when to say know so you aren’t taken advantage of.
I started as a temporary working in December, but now I’ve been here for 3 months at the same pay. Is that normal? I don’t know how to bring up the conversation about becoming a permanent employee, should I still be making 7.25?
How can I get hired at Hot Topic as a recent grad?
Just apply online. They will put you in a wait list whether they are hiring or not. When they DO start to accept applications they start from the oldest to the most recent. So I would say just hurry and apply online and check in every once in a while to see if they’ve started the hiring process.
What kind of people does Hot Topic like to hire?
It seems to me that they like people who are in tune with the products they like to sell. For instance, I wouldn’t come off as a try hard in the goth scene but knowing a lot about the latest in music and anime and other pop genres definitely gives you a one up.
What unique perks and benefits does Hot Topic provide?
There is a site called TicketsAtWork that we have access to which is pretty awesome. It has lots of discounts. Also, HT has one of the highest employee discounts I have ever seen.I’d say about 20% is average but HT has 40%!!
I got a package that I never ordered. I don’t use this company. I am a senior citizen and a package came to my job with no invoice in it and the people who work for you. They don’t even know their job.
