It's at your manager's discretion, so fair but not equal at all.

Working from home is at the discretion of your supervisor and your duties, however ... many supervisors are extremely old-school and prefer the butts in seats rule. You will get the occasional request granted, but more than 1-2x a month is frowned on. And forget any short- or long-term request based on a temporary home life need, etc.

Great work/life balance and perks

We have a full HR department.

Each department has their own vibe, but overall it's a family atmosphere with a good mix of serious and fun.

The mission of helping kids and communities is inspiring. I also like the idea of nurturing future service-minded leaders.

A single interview is usually an hour, sometimes more. If it's less, that's probably not a great sign.

Interview questions at Kiwanis range from skills-based to decision-making to cultural to strategic. It's a broad range on purpose to get to know the complete person.

Interviews at Kiwanis are similar to any other organization.

The interview cycle is typically long with multiple interviews. Depending on the department, you'll first meet with 1 or 2 people and then perhaps more later and possibly end with the same 1 or 2 or others for a final interview.

Annually if you've done a good job.

Work pace depends on the time of year. Sometimes it is insane and other times it is low-key. It's probably a good thing that it's not insane 24/7/365 like some places can be.

Freedom to set goals and propose changes or new ideas.

Lunch, drinks after work, escape room, game nights, etc.

The challenge bar is high here, as it likely is in most nonprofits. When resources are scarce or limited, resourcefulness is a virtue.

Not at all difficult to have a social life here. We only work 7.5 hour days. There are many generations within staff and quite a bit of after-hours socializing and friend groups, as well as staff who have joined Kiwanis clubs themselves. Plenty of off-work time for family and friends outside of work, as well.

Hopeful, determined to make progress, mostly grateful for the work I do. Some days are just hard though.

Every team is a bit different. For some it's immediate and daily. For others, it's once a week huddle. Once a month team meetups. For a few, it might simply be the annual review.
