Morale is not good among the rank and file. The workloads have increased and the Company is loathe to hire additional personnel to increase its profit margin.

If it is a true layoff, the employee will get severance. Sometimes, they attempt to cheat the employee out of severance by coming up with an alleged performance deficiency and labeling the termination for cause.
What's the work from home policy like at CNA Insurance?
The official policy is employees can work remotely up to 2 days per week, subject to management approval. This will vary widely depending on the department. Negotiate this before joining.
Does CNA Insurance drug test or do a background check?
The Company does a background check. When I was hired, no drug test was required.
