Team is young and forced to learn new things quickly
The team is really diverse in term of gender and ethnicity. However everybody is farily young.
We are collaborative, and everyone is talented in different areas of software development.
What's the vibe like in the Engineering dept at Thrive Market? How many hours are you working?
We can leave early if the work is done early. Usually it's 8h of work per day.
We have weekly happy hours, and daily lunches. The work is hard sometimes, but I don't work more than 9 hours a day.
It depends of the project. In average it’s 8hours but we can take friday off if the sprint is finished early. Standup is at 10am, you need to avoid being late for it.
How do I do well in an interview at Thrive Market?
Be prepared and be honest. Your talents and experience is important to get through the online test, but it is your character that is on display in the in-person interview. If you know the answer, great! If you don't know the answer, don't pretend to. Come with questions for those that you'll be meeting, and make sure they're sincere interests for you to know.

The leadership team in HR is extremely collaborative, engaging and vital. The HR team works closely with every department to be an effective partner in fostering a culture of entrepreneurship, excitement and engagement. The HR team takes the time to strengthen relationships and created an infrastructure that allows for reasonable hours, flexible time off, exceptional onboarding and training processes, self-directed employee initiatives, and cohort platforms. And more importantly, the HR team collaborates with all leaders to build an environment that privilege ideas over hours, impact over effort, elegant solutions over brute force, and holistic well-being over “machine-like” performance.

As a typical startup, focus is not the strongest suite of Thrive. So we often have to switch priorities quickly which can be challenging.

We do Happy Hours or outside small team events suchs as climbing, paintball, hiking.

That it will take so long for Thrive to finally focus on a goal.

Engineering is with product and datascience in the second floor. The floor is open on to the first floor so it’s not separated like many other offices.

We have catered food daily and plenty of snacks. We have a relaxing room. Pingpong table, basketball hoops.
