
You’re expected to be available at any execs whim. Interrupting vacation is fine. Requests on the weekend with expectation of answer/response is fine. Today I went on do not disturb on our instant messaging system to go the bathroom and my boss sent a text to my personal phone complaining that I was on DND.
It may vary depending on your management chain. In my experience as a developer, I have an amazing work-life balance. Hours are very flexible and there is no hour requirement as long as you get your work done.
It's nearly impossible, as you are expected to pick up the slack for everyone who leaves. People are rarely if ever replaced.
It's better than at many tech companies as many people here have families and children.
