Bad coworkers dont get pushed out, good coworkers dont get raised up very well. Need to address bad management and bad employees quicker.
80/20 rule. I enjoy the 20% that do a good job and take pride in their work. The other 80% are fun to hang with, but remote work has made that hard and less inviting.
increased inflation and high cost of living in my area means our meager 2-3% annual raises arent raises. 4-5%+ annual increases should be standard, with 6%+ for high performers. Reward good people for good work. A well paid good employee is cheaper than a revolving door of excellent cheap employees.
