Some stores do, most do not. If you have a great store manager who can keep the team motivated to make company goals, then your store gets "fill the fridge" or "pizza party" awarded to the store. I worked in a store where our manager was awesome at keeping the team in high spirits and created an inclusive environment for his team by giving us fun challenges often, playing (work appropriate) silly games and genuinely laughing and keeping the work day light hearted. Another store I transferred to was exactly the opposite. Occasionally that manager would buy us a bag of chips from the shelf. That's pretty much it.
Not all of corporate has team outings, I've been there 2 1/2 years only have had one outing in that time. Many of us have high regard for those who work in the retail area of the business as it is not easy work and not everyone can offer great customer service.
The store I just transferred from only did a Christmas party, but I didn't go. The store I'm at now (I transferred back to my old store) does do things outside the store, like bowling parties, but maybe once or twice a year.
Never. Only the corporate employees have any team building events or any get together. The store employees are totally disregarded as insignificant.
Occasionally we do and yes, they're pretty fun.
no we do not
