
Basically....your performance track record. If you are an individual performer trying for an individual performer role....your personal results tell the story. If you are wanting to move into a leadership role....my experience has been that you had better already be demonstrating strong leadership skills where you are first. You won't get a promotion just because you think you deserve one. There is no free lunch. With that said, though, I have been here almost thirty years and if you work hard and produce results that help the company move forward you will be recognized.....sometimes with a promotion.
