More budgeting control at the local level. It's all fed from the top down with very little input considered from the field.
What do people at Safelite AutoGlass think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
Tom Feeney is very well respected and deserving of that respect. He has taken the people of this company to a place where many of us feel like this is the best place we ever worked. They pay well, promote fairly, develop people, care deeply about the customer experience and their people. I'm a big fan of the company, so I have a hard time criticizing. It gets better all the time. They could do a better job on making the budgets fair every year instead of the killers that come along if you have a good year.
How's the work life balance at Safelite AutoGlass?
It's great as long as you make it great. The job needs done, though. I work as long as it takes to get it done and expect my team to do the same. I feel like my life is very balanced, but I love to work.
How's the vacation policy at Safelite AutoGlass?
Extremely generous. 14 days after year one. 19 days after 5 years. 24 years after 10 years. You even get some time in that first year if you start early enough in the year. (it's pro-rated)
How does Safelite AutoGlass make decisions around promotions?
Basically....your performance track record. If you are an individual performer trying for an individual performer role....your personal results tell the story. If you are wanting to move into a leadership role....my experience has been that you had better already be demonstrating strong leadership skills where you are first. You won't get a promotion just because you think you deserve one. There is no free lunch. With that said, though, I have been here almost thirty years and if you work hard and produce results that help the company move forward you will be recognized.....sometimes with a promotion.
