Unlike other companies, they do not have the attitude of “if you can’t do it, I’ll find someone else to do it for less”. That being said they are demanding of high performance and the people they bring in seem to be highly experienced and highly qualified. That makes for a very professional work culture.
Avis Budget Group has a closed knit culture where people essentially treat each other like family. However, when it comes down to working within a car rental location, you are left to work outside all by yourself in very high pressure situations to work at a very fast pace. Do not expect management to help you if a fellow colleague decides to call out. The people can be nice. When it comes to getting work done, employees are left to rot as management hide in the office doing nothing to ease the busy workload.

The call center does not care about providing great customer service. They are not up to date with rental location policies. At car rental locations, the employees who do not work at the front counter genuinely want to help customers. However, some things are beyond their control. The front desk staff do not care about customer service. They only care about lying to customers for the sole purpose of making a sale.

Leadership has great intentions with their yearly visit to all Avis Budget locations. However, they are out of touch with the dark sides of the car rental industry. They are more revenue oriented than they are customer service oriented. They let lower management get away with too many unethical practices.
