They are transparent as to goals, both individual and company-wide. Micromanagement is minimal. I am also impressed by the commitment to individual employee development.
Our campus leader has built and maintained a cohesive team. Each level and each department works together and there is only minimal, short-term friction (if any).
I enjoy the work I do, particularly direct interaction with students, faculty, and staff. I feel that the work we are doing has a lasting positive impact on my community.
Knowing the market value of my position in my area, I understand that SJVC is approximately 20-30% below the market for similarly qualified contributors. There are benefits to working for SJVC, but the pay rate is not one.
