It's customer service. I personally hate buzz phrases like "soft skills," as if being a nice person is something we have to relearn because our society is that individualistic. Just remember to always consider the customer's point of view. put yourself in their shoes. if something goes wrong, always apologize regardless if it's your fault. Always be honest and transparent when dealing with customers. Be patient; never let them see you raise your voice. Ask about customers' lives and families like you would your friends. Be neighborly, develop relationships and treat customers like long-distance friends. When they come in after a couple weeks being gone, ask how things have been. Remember their names so you can stop calling people "sir" and "maam" all the time. Sales is about building relationships, friendships even. The easier you can seem like or be a friend to everyone who walks through that door the better it will be for everyone.
